FROM THE CHAPPY CORNER
Jingeri!
What a wonderful few weeks we've had this term! A highlight for me has been our school celebrations for NAIDOC 2025. Thank you to all who were able to attend our special assembly on 29 August. At the NAIDOC assembly we launched our new Acknowledgement of Country video, written by our own students, celebrated with our first NAIDOC Awards, and sang the beautiful song 'Walking on Country'. It is a joy to celebrate any occasion but this one holds a special place in my heart as we acknowledge our First Nations people and culture. Check out the photo gallery for NAIDOC Week pictures.
Our Year 4-6 First Nations jarjum and selected student leaders are participating in Gift of Gallang (healing) this term. We welcome back Aunty Jess, and also Aunty Rox, to lead this cultural education and understanding program. So far we've learned about doing our best, regulating our emotions through breath, and experienced a smoking ceremony with Uncle Gavin. This program will continue for the rest of Term 3. Prep - Year 3 First Nations students will have a special program later this year.

Fresh Fruit Friday
A big thank you to Underwood Woolworths for continuing to supply delicious fruit every Friday for our students. This donation comes via the Healthy Kids Project, which you can read more about here https://www.healthykidsproject.com/
If you are able to help collect the fruit on Friday mornings at 8am please contact Chappy Love 3340 0777.
Breakfast Club and Lunches
Chaplaincy and YMCA provide resources for breakfast club on Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday, and also fill the gap when students find themselves without lunch. The volunteers for breakfast club come from local churches but from time to time our volunteers are ill or need to be replaced. Are you willing to help as a breakfast club volunteer? Please contact Chappy Love if you'd like to be involved 3340 0777.
LOOP Spring Day Camp
A NEW day camp (sleep at home) is coming - for children in Year 3-6 on 24-26 September, in the holidays. Come along for 3 days of fun, games, challenges and electives. There will be Bible sessions similar to CRI and opportunities to make new friends from other schools in our community. Cost for the 3 days is just $60 per child. The camp will be attended by local primary school chaplains and other local volunteers. We hope you can join us! https://su.org.au/events/loop-spring-day-camp/
Cooinda Mother Daughter Retreat
Chappy Cassie Love is leading a unique weekend away for mums and daughters from 10-12 October.
